Why am I seeing this page?

Your web browser or proxy does not support HTTP 1.1. All modern browsers do - go upgrade.

My browser does support HTTP 1.1 though.

You have probably tried to access our server by "unusual means". This includes entering the IP address directly, entering an aliased hostname that does not represent a site, or your browser/proxy is not sending the HTTP "Host" header.

Alternatively, a user may have requested a site be created on our server, and we haven't yet set it up fully (the DNS record is valid, but there is no site configured). In this case you will continue to see this message until setup is complete.

The site I'm trying to look at is valid, my browser is modern, but I still only get this message.

In that case you're probably behind a transparent HTTP proxy. Whinge at your system administrator until they configure things properly for you.
